DHX Software partnered with FactRight to modernize its due diligence reporting platform and develop a custom Learning Management System (LMS) for alternative investment training and certification. Through application modernization, workflow improvements, and platform integration, FactRight gained a connected technology ecosystem that supports reporting, training, and operational growth.
FactRight: Alternative Investment Due Diligence Services
FactRight is a leading provider of third-party due diligence, research, and risk management consulting services for the alternative investment community. The firm serves broker-dealers, registered investment advisors (RIAs), family offices, and product sponsors, helping wealth managers meet regulatory requirements, assess investment risk, and make informed platform decisions.
At the center of their client experience is the Report Center, a platform providing centralized access to due diligence reports, sponsor analysis, industry insights, and educational resources. It serves as a critical tool for keeping stakeholders compliant, informed, and aligned with evolving market conditions.
Challenges with Legacy Reporting and Investment Training Systems
FactRight came to us with a Report Center that was already in use but had begun to show its limitations. The platform was functional but was missing important information, lacked modern workflows, and didn’t offer the level of usability their sponsors, broker-dealers, and RIAs needed. A meaningful redesign and modernization was overdue.
As that work progressed, a second challenge came into focus. Agents and sales teams across family offices, broker dealers, and RIAs needed a consistent, scalable way to get trained and certified on the specific alternative investment products they were responsible for selling. The business needed a structured training platform that could integrate with the existing reporting ecosystem and support a large, distributed user base.
Custom Software Modernization and LMS Development
Report Center Modernization
We started with a thorough discovery process to understand what the existing platform was doing, where it fell short, and what the future state needed to look like. A key part of this phase was building a fully clickable prototype to document workflows and validate functionality with the FactRight team before any development began. This gave everyone a shared reference point and significantly reduced the risk of course corrections down the road.
With discovery complete and the prototype approved, we moved through design reviews and into development. The modernized Report Center introduced several meaningful improvements: users can now save and organize reports in personal libraries, sponsors and broker-dealers have clearer visibility into how reports are being used and who is viewing them, and export capabilities make it easier to act on that data downstream. Together, these changes turned the Report Center into a more capable, more modern platform that gives FactRight and their clients greater control over the information they rely on every day.
Testing Center (LMS) Implementation
After the Report Center was delivered, FactRight came back with the next piece of the puzzle. They needed to train up the agent teams at broker-dealers, RIAs, and family offices to ensure the people responsible for selling alternative investments were properly prepared to do so. The answer was a Learning Management System, and we built one.
The Testing Center works the way you’d expect an LMS to: courses are assigned based on specific investment opportunities, agents work through the material, and pass/fail evaluations confirm readiness. It’s designed to support large sales teams with a consistent experience across the board.
What makes the solution stand out is how the two platforms work together. While the Report Center and Testing Center are separate systems, they were designed to communicate, allowing FactRight to align reporting, training, and sales enablement in a single connected ecosystem. Agents access their training through the Testing Center, while oversight and reporting activity continues through the Report Center environment.
Benefits of Integrated Reporting and Training Platforms
The combined effort moved FactRight well beyond a single reporting application. They now have a modern, capable platform that supports both information delivery and the preparation of the teams responsible for acting on that information.
For the business, the Report Center modernization delivered improved workflows, better visibility, and a more professional experience for sponsors, broker-dealers, RIAs, and internal stakeholders. The addition of the Testing Center gave FactRight a scalable, structured approach to training and certification, so that when agents go out to sell, they’re ready.
Together, the solutions have positioned FactRight’s platform as both a trusted due diligence resource and a practical tool for business enablement, well-suited to support the firm’s continued growth in the alternative investment space.
